What is a Digital Signature Certificate?

A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is a secure digital key that certifies the identity of the holder, issued by a Certifying Authority (CA). It typically contains your identity (name, email, country, APNIC account name, and your public key). Digital Certificates use Public Key Infrastructure meaning data that has been digitally signed or encrypted by a private key can only be decrypted by its corresponding public key. A digital certificate is an electronic “credit card” that establishes your credentials when doing business or other transactions on the Web. Applications of DSC:

1. MCA filing
2. Income Tax,  TDS & GST filing
3. Foreign Trade
4. e-tendering/e-procurement
5. Employee Provident Fund

Digital Signature Certificates have become a statutory requirement in various applications. We, issues three classes of certificates to individuals and organizations namely Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 digital signature certificate, in compliance with the rules of the Indian IT Act, 2000 and the X.509 Certificate Policy for India Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) published by Controller of Certifying Authorities. Information about Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) resides in the certificate section of Internet Options of a computer system but keeping DSC details on a computer system in this way has the following drawbacks:
